Trust Leadership Team

Our Academy Trust Leadership Team consists of a dedicated team of professionals who deal with the day-to-day management of all of our schools under the guidance of the Executive Headteacher, Michael Johnson.

This results in seamless management across all of the schools in the Trust, and ensures that every child benefits from our unique flexibility to share resources, expertise and best practice across the schools.

Michael Johnson - Executive Headteacher & Chief Executive Officer

We are all proud of Chulmleigh Academy Trust and our family of schools.  We are here to work with you so that we, together, promote ambition and inspire all the children in our care.

Neil Payne - Deputy Executive Headteacher

I am passionate about raising standards in education and my role centres around Teaching and Learning and the Curriculum.  I am also the Senior Designated Officer for Child Protection at the College.  I have worked in a number of schools and at the College previously, as Head of Religious Education, and bring this wide experience to my role.

Tina Harrison - Business Manager

As Academy Business Manager I am responsible for the strategic oversight, operation and delivery of support services within the Trust.

As you can imagine the role is varied and no two days are the same.  I feel it is a real privilege to work for the Trust.

I am responsible for the Trust Primary schools.  I have over 20 years’ experience in Primary education and have been the headteacher of four different schools before joining the Chulmleigh family. I have always found my job incredibly rewarding, so working with a group of schools and the children and staff within them, is a real joy.

Adrian Wade - Operations & Compliance Manager

I am the Operations and Compliance Manager at the Trust, a role which includes elements of strategic and operational oversight, together with responsibility for ensuring that the Trust’s statutory and contractual obligations are met.

I am a solicitor and the Company Secretary of the Trust, and as part of my role I provide legal and compliance advice to the other members of the Trust’s leadership team, and to the Trust’s Board of Directors.

My role is endlessly rewarding, challenging and satisfying, and it’s a pleasure to be able to contribute to the great work done by the staff in our four schools.

Louise Miller-Marshall - SENDCo

As Academy SENDCo I am committed to supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities across all schools within the Trust. My role is to ensure that all necessary considerations are in place to enable our pupils to achieve their very best and enjoy their time with us.  I believe that all children have a right to achieve success and fulfilment of their potential. In addition, I am the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Terry Pullen - Estates Manager

My role within the Trust focusses on the buildings, and health and safety. It is an absolute privilege to be associated with our four schools, ensuring the premises offer the very best possible conditions for learning. Whilst I am based in the College, I can quite often be found at one of the primary schools checking on things and making sure everything is working as it should. My position allows me to get involved in so many aspects of education; not only the facilities management side but teaching and learning, community partnerships, pupil and parent support. It’s never boring, quite often a challenge and always rewarding.

I really do hope that my contribution helps the children benefit from the best possible environment.
